Mithraeum Temple – London

The London Mithraeum, also known as the Temple of Mithras, Walbrook, is a Roman mithraeum that was discovered in Walbrook, a street in the City of London, during a building’s construction in 1954. This site is situated beneath the Bloomberg Space and is free to enter. It’s best to prebook your visit and then enjoy the 45 minutes of freedom to view exhibits and then enjoy the immersive experience of the Mithraeum. This site is only 10 minutes walking distance from the London Amphitheatre which is situated beneath the Guild Hall

Standing in the centre viewing platform the start of the viewing is in darkness and gradually the lighting increases with sound effects to give you a sense of the ritual.
Looking back from the Mithraeum alter the central viewing platform is suspended over the flooring.
